SCRIPT FOR TODAY: 02/28/15- “Nailed And Crucified Them!” (Galatians 5:24)

Premise Question: What does it mean, as believers, to truly belong to Christ?

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. (‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭24‬ NLT)

All those who are a part of The Company of The Redeemed, are in a unique, irrevocable trust, relationship with Jesus Christ, The LORD, and therefore, now belong exclusively to Him; and having done the right thing, when they nailed, by fastening securely, and putting to death, on the very cross Christ was crucified, their innate, inherently depraved, corrupt nature, with all of its insatiable, inordinate affections and cravings to be self satisfied and fulfilled, were crucified on that cross. (Galatians 5:24 PDCP)

Bottom Line: When we truly belong to Christ, we will no longer yield ourselves to the influence and control of our old natural born self, with all of its inclinations, propensities and proclivities, (appetites) but will make it our aim, with The LORD’s help and enabling, to always yield ourselves to be led, guided and influenced, by The Spirit and our reborn, regenerative new nature, which has as its greatest desire, to please and honor our gracious LORD and merciful Papa God! “Keep your heart free of debris, flush the flesh and stay refreshed,” by always dying to self and not satisfying and fulfilling the utterly depraved and completely corrupt sinful nature.
