SCRIPT FOR TODAY: Double Entendre (meaning)…(1) A prescription (script) prescribed, by The Great Physician, for us to take each day, for our benefit and (2) A script written, for the purpose of giving direction and guidance to us, for our everyday life, in the way and manner we ought to be conducting our daily lives, given to us, by the Great playwright, in the sky, The Author of all that is good, right, just and holy. Blessings…

SCRIPT FOR TODAY: 05/12- “Be A Responder, Rather Than A Reactor!” (1 Thessalonians 5:15)

Premise Question: How are we, as members of The Company of The Redeemed, known and perceived by those who may interact with us on some level, or that we have some kind of connection to—responders or reactors?

See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. (‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬ NLT)

Just because someone has been ruefully hateful, hurtful or harmful towards you, in any way shape or form, doesn’t mean that you should immediately reciprocate, by reacting in kind towards them. It would be absolutely prudent, on your part, to refuse to do so! Rather, though, it would be most righteous and wise, on your part, to choose to deliberately respond to them, by walking in release before them, while exhibiting a mercifully forgiving heart and attitude, that’s full of refreshing kindness, goodness and grace, and that always attempts to give to others what is recognized and accepted as being best for them and everyone; which is in complete compliance and accordance with Papa God’s Word. (1 Thessalonians 5:15 PDCP)

Bottom Line: How are we known and perceived by others and how do they interact with us? Do people feel it necessary to walk around us in fear and trepidation, not wanting to displease or upset us, by tiptoeing or walking on egg shells trying to avoid, at all costs, an outburst of emotion or an angry reaction that could be characterized as us turning into a nuclear reactor meltdown? Or are they relaxed, calm and at peace around us, knowing that if something does happen, they are confidently assured that they are not going to incur the wrath of some venting, unstable, immature, acting out crazy person, but a person who is measured, calm, spiritually mature, full of peace and The Holy Spirit and one which chooses to respond rather than react to every circumstance, situation, issue or event that may happen around or to them?

Papa God’s Word gives us clear instructions and commands, not suggestions, on how we are to deliberately choose to be a responder, rather than a reactor! Through the Apostle Peter, He tells us to not repay or retaliate when we’ve experienced evil, but if you must repay or retaliate, then do it with blessings, not curses! (1 Peter 3:9) Peter, in his second epistle, goes on to say that we should make every effort to respond to Papa God’s promises, by adding a whole litany of things to our faith and ends the list with, that we should have brotherly affection and love for everyone. (2 Peter 1:5-6)

Not to mention, The Beatitudes, which are listed in The Gospel of Matthew chapter five, for they are the attitudes that we ought to adopt as our own and then actually live out and be!

The Apostle Paul, in addressing the Romans, says that evil should never be repaid with evil and that revenge should never be an option that’s on the table. Instead, if you have an enemy that is hungry or thirsty, you are to give them something to eat and drink, for we are to not ever be conquered by evil, but we are to overcome and conquer evil by doing good! (Romans 12:17-21)

Finally, a few words to the wise from the wise, Solomon. A soft and gentle response will deflect anger, but the utilization of a harsh reaction will only stir up and inflame, perhaps even causing an out of control conflagration. (Proverbs 15:1)

Dear friends, let us all choose to be responders, first and foremost, with love and compassion, when we are reviled, maligned, insulted, or misunderstood and lied about; rather than reactors who react out of anger or hurt.

Let’s all learn and choose to walk in love, humility and release before everyone, leaving the results, ramifications and the rest up to Papa God. Blessings…
