SCRIPT FOR TODAY: Double Entendre (meaning)…(1) A prescription (script) prescribed, by The Great Physician, for us to take each day, for our benefit and (2) A script written, for the purpose of giving direction and guidance to us, for our everyday life, in the way and manner we ought to be conducting our daily lives, given to us, by the Great playwright, in the sky, The Author of all that is good, right, just and holy. Blessings…
SCRIPT FOR TODAY: 07/02- “We Are What We Think!” (Philippians 4:8)
Premise Question: Is what we think about and how we think, really that important, and does it have any effect upon or make a difference in our lives?
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Philippians 4:8 NLT)
And one last thing, my dearly beloved friends. Papa God ultimately desires that we all have a laser focus on being absolutely authentic, genuinely sincere and honorable, only involving ourselves in noteworthy, ethically proper and sound, free from all contamination, being completely chaste in all our activities and dealings, appearing delightful and pleasing, not only to the eye, but as well, to the heart and mind, inspiring reverence and affection, with great approval. So, anything that’s worthwhile or superior, deserving extraordinary laudable commendation and praise, these are the things that should consume and influence our thoughts, behavior and actions. (Philippians 4:8 PDCP)
Bottom Line: I love the encouraging message and instructions given in Philippians chapter four! For after the Apostle Paul tells his brothers and sisters to stay true to The LORD, he then expresses his great love for all the people of Papa God, and how he longs to see them again, by telling them that them staying true to The LORD is all the encouragement and eternal reward that he’ll ever need or desire to receive for his efforts and work amongst them.
He instructs and encourages them to settle their disagreements, to always be joyful and to rejoice continually, to always be considerate of others, to never forget that The LORD is returning, and to never worry about anything, but instead, always pray about everything, telling The LORD what they need and then thanking Him for all that He’s done for them. For then, His peace beyond belief will be experienced, by them, as He will guard and keep safe, their hearts and minds.
After all that, though, Paul leaves them with one last thing, which is perhaps the thing that is most significantly important, as it has a tremendous bearing and affect upon a person’s outlook in life—in the way it influences and effects their perception about everything that happens to them in the process of life, and also how they interact and perceive everyone they encounter in life.
It is, therefore, critically imperative, as it is vital to everything in life, that we fix our thoughts, the way we think and what we think about and focus on! And the only way to fix that, is to take Paul’s encouraging admonition of focusing on the good, the right, the pure, the honorable, the true, the admirably beautiful things in life, and to only think on the things that are excellent and worthy of high praise and honor.
If you try and not think about something by, with great effort and determination, focusing on trying not to think of it, you’ll have a really difficult time not thinking about what you’re trying not to think about! But, if you’ll think only about and focus only on the things you ought to be thinking about, the good and positive, righteous and true, then you’ll be able to fix your thoughts, and have a whole new outlook in life!
For we truly are greatly influenced and affected by what we think about and how we think! We Are What We Think! Blessings…
