SCRIPT FOR TODAY: Double Entendre (meaning)…(1) A prescription (script) prescribed, by The Great Physician, for us to take each day, for our benefit and (2) A script written, for the purpose of giving direction and guidance to us, for our everyday life, in the way and manner we ought to be conducting our daily lives, given to us, by the Great playwright, in the sky, The Author of all that is good, right, just and holy. SCRIPT FOR TODAY: 09/11- “Appropriate Versus Inappropriate Boasting!” (2 Corinthians 10:17-18)

Premise Question: Is it ever appropriate for someone to boast; and, if it is, who and what ought someone to be boasting about?

“As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the LORD.” When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them.” (‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

Based upon the supreme authority of Papa God’s Holy Writ, nothing good will ever come from heaping praise upon yourself, by bragging about your talents, abilities and gifts, your own exploits, personal accomplishments and accolades; for it’s entirely inappropriate, as it won’t suffice or cut it and will never accomplish the desired and necessary result of being accepted, with official approval and commendation from The LORD GOD Almighty Himself! All bragging, with extravagant praise, honor, reverential worship and boasting, is only appropriate, when it is done and said about The LORD GOD Almighty, whose commendation and approval is the only one that really matters. So, “Let the one who boasts, exuberantly boast only in The LORD GOD Almighty!” (2 Corinthians 10:17-18 PDCP)

Bottom Line: Our clearly delineated, being the absolutely definitive answer to the premise question, as to whether or not it is ever appropriate to boast about something, someone or ourselves, is found within the pages of Papa God’s Holy Writ—The Holy Scriptures! According to them, it is only ever appropriate to brag and boast about The LORD GOD Almighty; His exploits, His accomplishments, His character, His righteousness, His wisdom, and His divine acts of love, mercy, grace and kindness.

Therefore, we are to most definitely, especially, boast about the splendor of His Holiness, and that, it is only through Him we have been set free and also made to be pure, holy and right with Papa God.

Not because of anything we have done or who we are, but entirely because of who He is and what He has done for each one of humankind, that truly believes, repents and confesses Him as LORD! For it is then, that eternal salvation and life is graciously granted to them, as they are instantly delivered from the powers of sin and darkness, into His glorious presence and light.

So, whether we are rich, wise, influential, powerful, full of achievements, accolades, or accomplishments, or have a lovely disposition, or even a winsome personality, any bragging, boasting, special recognition or veneration, should ever only be in and about The LORD! Period!

So yes, boasting in The LORD alone, is completely appropriate, highly encouraged and especially commanded. Blessings…
