SCRIPT FOR TODAY: 08/14/15- “Serving The LORD Comes With Great Benefits!” (Colossians 3:23-24)

Premise Questions: Is it possible, as well as, it being the honorable and right thing to do, for a person to do work they don’t enjoy, and or, work for someone that they neither like or respect?

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”
(‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:23-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

So, in anything and everything you do, no matter who it involves or what it may entail, as to what may be required, requested or expected of you; always extend yourself, by exerting maximum effort, holding nothing back in reserve, doing it with your whole heart, mind and body, with a flourishing enthusiasm, while at the same time, exhibiting great courage, as if your very life depended upon your work effort and ethic, and do it as if, you are actually laboring diligently for The LORD God Almighty Himself; not merely working for a human boss, overseer, supervisor, or foreman, since you are already aware of the true fact that you shall have conferred and bestowed upon you an incorruptible, being absolutely invaluable and incalculable, a magnificently huge inheritance, from The LORD God Almighty, which is an eternally glorious, without end, unmerited reward, as a result of you serving, in the wonderful service of The King Eternal, Jesus Christ, The LORD and Savior of all humankind. (Colossians 3:23-24 PDCP)

Bottom Line: According to this passage of Scripture, it is not only possible to do work you don’t enjoy, as well as, work for someone you don’t necessarily like or respect, for whatever reason; but it is the only attitude and approach we should have, as believers, as it is the only right and honorable thing to do, as long as, we are doing the work that we’re presently doing and working for those we are working for at that moment; no matter what we are doing, when we are doing it, where we are doing it or who we are doing it with and for! In regards to our work and who we work for, we ought to always be exhibiting the appropriate attitude, having a great work ethic, being full of integrity and giving due honor, respect, with an earnest effort. This is much easier to accomplish and do, when no matter what work we do or who we are working for, we do our work joyfully, willingly, not under compulsion and we do it without resentment or bitterness; but we have and exhibit the joyful attitude, that in everything we do and everyone we work for, literally, we are doing it as unto The LORD, for we are actually working and serving Him and it is Him who will ultimately treat us right, like royalty, by giving us our glorious inheritance and incredible rewards. Not to mention, that it should really be our desire and greatest ambition to always be pleasing to Him, in all that we do or say! So, we should not be looking or striving, in this world, for the recognition, accolades, attention, affections or approval of humankind, but, with regards to our work, we certainly ought to be gleefully anticipating, waiting in hopeful expectation, that no matter what is happening now or in the future, for a certitude, our sure and certain reward, of our glorious, never ending nor fading, eternal inheritance, we will personally receive, from The One we humbly and enthusiastically serve, Jesus Christ The LORD! Blessings…

Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. (Isaiah 61:7 NIV)

Rather than, continuing to receive insults, having regrets and feeling the pain of shame, while being the object of scorn, you will now be the recipient of a double blessing and anointing, and rather than, experiencing a loss of respect, honor and esteem, while being constantly dismissed by everyone, you will now be overjoyed, expressing and rejoicing fully, in The Lord’s delight, because of your wonderful legacy. You shall receive a double blessing of provision and protection, as you walk, work and worship, in your own land, being filled with the joy of The Lord and His strength, forevermore. (Isaiah 61:7 PDCP)
